located right beside boat quay's macdonalds...

heard Ren Pei rave about this place before but never visited.

we were first served the spinach and parmesan cheese bread with olive oil ($5)...

the bread is so so good! the bread is warm and the sides are crispy.. the bread is soft and smells great!

Squid cakes ($20)...

its breaded and deep fried... i didnt find it very good but orella and jeffrey liked it. i think i much prefer crab cakes to squid cakes. haha

foie gras ($26)...

its good! its supposed to be served with oxtail stew which i think would be much better but pity jeffrey doesnt take beef.

we chose one mains each and shared. jeffrey chose the duck confit ($32)...

it comes with a sausage and cooked with corn. its not very crispy but generally nice. i especially like their mashed potato.

Orella chose the red snapper ($32)...

the fish itself was ok... very ordinary but the cream sauce was very good. went very well with the vegetables. the sauce was what made it special.

i chose the kurobuta pork ($44)....

the server said kurobuta pork is similiar to the beef in the kobe standards. I'd say the pork is really good. it is really really tender.

one thing also to note is the tomatoes dat comes with the dishes. they are all very very sweet.

for desserts, we had the panna cotta ($12)...

the sauce had a bit of almond taste so i didnt really like it but the pastry on the top was really good.

warm chocolate pudding ($12).....

this is pretty good though its really really small. a little steep in pricing for its portion.

vanilla bean custard ($12)...

this dessert has a taste thats familiar yet i cannot pin down what it tastes like. its served with mango icecream. generally it tastes ok but not fantastic.

they treated me for the meal, thank cute!
