HongKong Cafe - Tong Shui

Tong Shui is located at 54 Zion Road, facing Great World City...

Tong Shui....

The interior of the place....

Very bright colours and lotsa chinese decorations.

The menu...

Their chee cheong fan section really has quite a combination....

i noticed this one with chinese fritters rolled inside only after i ordered...

For drinks i ordered the ba bao cha (eight treasure tea)...

i thought it'll be somewhat like the previous Yi Pao Er Hong's ba bao cha which is sweetened but sadly its not. In fact its pretty different. This is under their chef's recommendation but i somehow didn't quite like it. Quite a waste actually coz it came in a pretty big jug. Although i din like it, maybe u guys would.

I immediately asked them to bring away the ba bao cha and i reordered a iced milk tea...

the iced milk tea was not bad.

and the chee cheong fan i ordered came wif egg and shrimp dumpling...

Details of the chee cheong fan...

The egg was just fried egg, the shrimp dumpling was crispy and hot but i din quite like it. I mean its not bad but the skin is somewhat like springroll skin so its pretty tasteless (not like wanton skin) and the filling is fish paste (i think) or maybe it is prawn paste but somehow its not those big chunks of prawn kind which i like so dats why i didnt quite like it. The chee cheong fan was not bad with sweet sauce and sesame seeds. But i din feel dat it was to shout for.

I also ordered a fish baked rice. Apparently they are pretty famous for their baked rice as well.

half of the baked rice was in cream sauce (which i liked) and the other part was in tomato sauce (which i found just ok.. but of coz, this is very subjective). The fish thickness was good and taste was not bad. But comparatively i kinda prefer the taste of Central HK cafe's fish baked rice (But Central's standards seemed to haf dropped lately).

Also had their toast..

Ordered the peanut butter with condensed milk toast...

Its so so good. Especially the corners where its crispy and somewhat salty yet sweet. Love the combination!
