We had dinner at Esplanade's Urban East.....
its actually replacing the former Garlic Restaurant.
the interior of the restaurant....
it was really quite. Jinghua said i should note that the chairs are quite hard and uncomfortable to sit on.
we shared the prawn paste chicken...
the prawn paste chicken is the nicest dish for the night. Crispy and nicely marinated.
the rest of the dishes, i shall just name them because they are all just mediocre...
kai lan with garlic...
seafood tofu...
Judy and i had the xo fish soup....
served in those paper steamboat which the smoke started to get really heavy covering most of the taste...
Yunping had a pork chop with fried rice...
Jinghua had a prawn nasi....
Huanliang had a prawn paste chicken chop...
which smells better den how it tastes.
the most interesting item tonight was their beancurd....
its served in a bowl in liquid form.. den u're supposed to cover it with a saucer as lid for about 5 mins den it'll solidify! It costs $3.90 .. very expensive if u ask me.. but the beancurd was pretty good... smooth. Compared to Yong He, i'd prefer the beancurd here but comparing to Rochor, i'll prefer Rochor's!
