Wild Honey

i have been having cravings for scrambled eggs (the holy shit kickass Australian Dairy Co. one) since i came back from Hong Kong. I have been asking around but other than Mcdonald's big breakfast's scrambled eggs, i dont seem to have much good recommendations for it.

after a joint appointment with Becky, i told her of my cravings and she recommended checking out Wild Honey. And Wild Honey has a new outlet over at Scotts Square so we headed down...

this outlet is a lot brighter than the one at Mandarin Gallery. I much prefer it.

they serve all day breakfast in different country styles. I went through the list and they do have scrambled eggs in a number of items on their list and in fact they claim the scrambled eggs are done differently.

I chose Gallic ....

the menu says its a simple but classic dish of creamy scrambled eggs made the french way with their signature brioche and vine ripened pearl tomato. i can't remember if its $18 or $28. But either the price, its stilll mad expensive for two pieces of bread with some eggs and tomato.

the brioche is a thick nice piece of bread but yeah im not a bread person. I did like Food For Thought's brioche though (coz it taste a bit like bread, a bit like cake, so its special in my view). this one just taste like thick toast, a pretty one.

the scrambled eggs were indeed creamy but not wow-ing in my humble opinon. Its a little too light in taste yet pretty creamy. i think i would like it if it was a little more salty.

and coz i felt i needed meat, i topped up sides of pork sausages (i think its $5) and smoked salmon ($10!!!)....

portions were decent for the side orders. Luckily i had becky to share them with me.

becky chose the Norwegian...

its avocado, grilled asparagus spears, two perfectly poached eggs wrapped with imported norwegian smoked salmon, homemade hollandaise sauce and salmon pearls on whole wheat brioche.

before becky's item arrived, she was anxiously looking around at the dishes on other patrons table and commenting.. " how come everytime other people's orders look better? "

hahaha.. but i think when hers arrived, she was happy with what she saw....

hers did look very delectable! the poached eggs were done just right and goes well with the hollandaise sauce. i know coz becky let me try one!

while the norwegian was nice, it was $26!!

this place is really expensive!!

but i think its a nice place for some girly gatherings and if you actually share the cost as a slightly bigger group, its probably not as costly.
