Dinner was at Cafe de Amigo with Meixin....
the entrance....
its located at Funan IT Mall, unit 02-15.
the interior of the place....
we went for the set dinner ($42 per pax.. wif lotsa plus plus plus when u wana change items).
for starters, we went for the escargots ragout and the angels on horseback as per Lionel's recommendations.
the escargots ragout...
a closer up view...
the inside of the puff....
i think the use of puff was rather interesting. Taste wise i thought was just alright, pretty garlic-ky but not extraordinary.
the angels on horseback....
after a bite.....
also felt it was ok. not bad but not extraordinary.
soup wise, we went for the cream of potato and lobster bisque.
the cream of potato....
the cream of potato soup was pretty ok. they also haf a french onion soup.... probably should haf went for that.
the lobster bisque...
a pretty good portion of lobster meat...
the taste was alright. had quite a relatively stronger alcohol taste, in comparsion to the other lobster bisque i tried. But the prawny (or so my ah yee calls it, the hay gor) taste is not as strong. So i actually prefer the other types which i've tried.
for mains, having remember the wonderful pork chop we had from Perle Noire, we decided to go for the pork chop, secretly hoping for something close....
the pork chop was thinner den Perle Noire...
of coz, its not a fair comparison actually. the pork chop at Perle Noire is too fabulous. haha.. Cafe De Amigo's one is not bad i'd say... the sauce is nice... texture is alright.
the other mains we had was the tenderloin.....
Lionel actually highly recommended me their argentina tenderloin but they are out of it. only left wif the argentina sirloin so in the end, we went for the normal tenderloin.....
done medium rare....
it was oh so good! Tender! Mexin liked it as much as i did. and Meina and Aloy, i think its also the kind which u 2 will like!
for desserts, i went for the tiramisu....
the tiramisu is actually hard on the below...
somewhat like an ice cream. its not the type of tiramisu i'd like.
next up was the lemon souffle....
indeed, like what the menu wrote, impressive in presentation. we were both wow-ed by it!
but in terms of taste, it was again, average. not that its not nice though.. maybe im just not very into souffles. haha.. the back part of it kinda reminded me of the typical Hong Kong steamed egg though. the egg taste was pretty strong... i kinda liked that part.
