Miss Clarity Cafe

Miss Clarity Cafe @ Purvis Street...

the entrance...

The interior.....

Its a very vibrantly coloured place.

Their cakes selection...

the girls loved this wall...

and their menu....

We ordered a set meal each which is a top up of $3 which includes either a soup or salad, a drink (either barley or lemon) and a dessert of the day.

The soup and salad....

The salad was some assorted greens with thousand island sauce. The soup of the day was cream of chicken. Both tasted alright but nothing spectacular.

We shared a potato ravioli as starter...

it was cream based and the taste was alright to me but the rest of the ladies found it to be very good. So i guess its subjective. The skin was rather thin though which i guess was a good thing.

For mains, i recommended mummy gorzilla (Elica) to try the chicken corden bleu ($8)...

a closer view of it...

the ham and the cheese...

Its breaded chicken breast stuffed with ham and cheese.

It was not too bad, the rest of the ladies found it very good. I found it alright i guess but didnt think it was that amazing. I noticed the price $8 is different from what was previously reviewed. Apparently they adjusted their prices again. From $5.50 to $7 to the current $8.

The sides of cauliflower and potato was not bad though.

I had the chicken ballotine ($8)...

a closer view....

its oven baked chicken thigh with fresh shitake mushroom stuffing served with mushroom sauce. Generally found it ok. Again, the girls think its very nice and i think its just ok. So maybe im the weird one.

Nanny (Meijiao) had the vegetarian pizza ($7)...

this pizza was quite good though. I only tried a bite but the taste was good and the crust was really crispy. Not super thin but it was alright.

Miss piggy (Lyndi) ordered some lamb chops thingy ($9, if i recall correctly)...

i didnt try it coz its lamb. But according to the girls, they've all nv tasted such a 'sao' lamb before. Apparently the lamb taste was really really strong. I guess its good for those who like that mutton taste.

The dessert of the day was some black bean pudding....

It was a really really small piece. Estimated around the length and width of ur index finger? The taste is a slight bit like the black glutinous rice dessert wif coconut dessert we chinese usually order in bowls. I found it pretty alright but mummy gorzilla (Elica) didnt like it. She found it abit too bland.

Ah mah pig (Joanna) didnt have main course but she had a bread and butter pudding ($2.80). To add a scoop of ice cream its an additional $1.50...

The portion was abit small actually. Taste wise was not bad... pretty good.

Something happened when one of the server was serving us our drinks. He accidentally spilled my barley drink on my back wetting the back of my top. So in the end, mummy gorzilla (Elica) had to help me at the back to clean it for me. Understanding its an accident, i told the server its alright. The lady boss offered to change my dessert to a bread and butter pudding as a form of apology.

After the accident, we kinda changed tables and one of their worker mopped up the floor. When another female patron walked past the place, she accidentally tripped and fell hurting her cheeks on one of our chairs. That poor lady. Thank god the injury wasnt that bad and the lady left after paying. But im suspecting her face would most probably be blueblack by the next few days. The poor worker was also harshly scolded by the boss. She scolded him for not drying the place after he mopped.

Later towards the end of our meal, another younger incharge of the place who just arrived also came over to apologise to me about the spilling of the drinks and also offered another bread and butter pudding on my next visit.
