Chinese - Crown Prince Hotel

Diana's wedding at Crown Prince Hotel.

The table setting....

There was a plate of candy and chocolates on the table, a bowl of rose petals and party poppers...

the bowl of rose petals looked so much like potato chips!

Couple of them almost mistook the rose petals for potato chips.

The wedding favour is a small silver photoframe...

First dish to be served was the cold combination....

Consists of scallop yam dumpling, roast duck, salad prawns, baby octopus and ngoh hiang.

The scallop yam dumpling, i couldnt taste the scallop at all. The yam dumpling was not popular coz it wasnt tasty... just a round ball of yam mash.

The roast duck was not crispy enough. The colour wasnt appealing either.

The salad prawns was the best item on the plate. Prawns were crunchy and fresh.

Baby octopus was quite nice.

The ngoh hiang was very normal.

Next up was the braised shark's fin soup with crabmeat and conpoy...

A clear view of the sharks fin...

It was quite blend and couldnt quite taste the sharks fin. Also felt quite starchy. Even the vinegar was very diluted. Had to add alot alot to get the taste.

Followed by the shark fins was the braised duck with sea cucumber, shimeiji mushroom and snow pea....

The duck was pretty good in my view. And since the rest of the girls were small eaters, i helped myself with the duck. The sauce was just nice as well.

Following on is the poached live prawns with chinese herbs..

which i didnt try because i'm not in the mood for shelling prawns today.

Den came the braised abalone with sea cucumber, spinach and mushrooms

This dish was alright overall.

Next up is the sauteed scallops with honey beans and macademia nuts...

The scallops were really good! Fresh and big. Yummy!

Steamed garoupa with superior soya sauce...

The fish was not popular. The texture of the fish was mashy so we didnt finish the item.

The second last dish was the braised ee fu noodles...

Portion was really big, we barely finished half of it. Taste was alright.

I didn't manage to try the last dish which is the yam paste with ginko nuts because Liping had to rush off early.

I guess overall the dinner was ok but the girls had complaints of the cups being unclean. On 2 occassions, lipstick marks were found on the glasses. And as we were seated close to the drinks section, the girls actually saw the manager merely using a towel to wipe off the mark instead of washing the cups. We were pretty disgusted by it.
