Jiahao and Kaizhi got seats the the japanese village at b1 of the cathay. their concept is that food is ordered while you walk and browse around. pretty gimmicky. basically you walk around and u will see bamboo containers with ice cream sticks inside...
each bamboo container is supposed to represent a particular item....
to order, you will have to pick up a stick of the item you want to order and place it in a metal container and send it to the counter and the item will be delivered to u.
bo liao. haha
food wise, it was not fantastic. in fact its very normal and to the extent of sub standard.
the baked scallops...
a closer up view...
the scallop taste was not bad but it seems kinda dry and a little overcooked.
kaizhi's soft shell crab handroll...
we also order the bbq sticks. bacon with asparagus and bacon n golden mushrooms...
although its a thick roll. its not really nice. its quite tasteless. i think the stall outside (Quickbite)'s version is so much nicer and cheaper. likewise for the chicken karage...
the beef salad was not too bad though...
but still no wow factor.
