1Caramel

anyway, after dinner Kaizhi brought us to 1 Caramel located right beside The Cathay. She told us about the yummilious cakes and its a cafe owned by her ex-colleague (who is a HOT BABE). Its not exactly inside The Cathay. If you walk from The Cathay (the billy bombers exit) over to Plaza Singapura, you won't miss it.

1 Caramel..

newly opened hence all the colourful well wishes...

the interior...

very elegantly done up place. we were just commenting on the different flowers used on different tables adds this touch of style.... only to realise they used different flowers coz they were taken from the opening ceremony's flower stands. haha..

the pretty cake decorations...

their showcase of the cakes they have... they have quite a huge variety!

this one caught my eye!

jiahao agreed to share it with me and kaizhi went for their warm chocolate cake.

unique looking spoons....

jiahao had a iced mocha.....

yummy.. its got chocolate syrup coating the glass... its good!

kaizhi's hot mocha...

which she is very satisfied with coz there is a piece of biscotti. haha

the cake i chose...

its some honey cake. its quite special and different from the other cakes. the moose like layer on top is kinda honey flavoured. the texture is like moose, like cream yet not quite. the strawberry like layer is like some custard or slightly hardened jam. its just nice. haha

kaizhi's warm chocolate cake...

with chocolate oozing out...

the warm chocolate cake wasnt exactly fantastic. it was warm but not warm enuff? the chocolate was only mildly warm. the exterior wasnt crispy enuff. but the ice cream was cool! it was honey ice cream! but having said that, i'd guess the texture of the cake was subjective.. maybe i just happen to like a crispier exterior and soft warm interior for these kinda cakes.

aside from pieces of cakes, they also have sampler sizes. i think its 6 for $10 if i recall correctly but because we were pretty full, we only took 1 sampler. Kaizhi highly recommended the passion fruit cake....

i didnt find it as nice as kaizhi recommended. i liked the passion fruit bits on the top though! kaizhi likes it coz she said its a bit suan suan tian tian. haha
