which i didn't have but Joel polished off 3 slices. haha.. he likes bread and he said he likes their butter. Most places either have them too soft or too cold. Broth's is just nice.
The sweet lil bee came out wif champagne for us....
a nice touch to the evening. I always remember lil bee said.. " champagnes are for celebrations " haha..
we shared a starter of the baby spinach and portobello mushrooms ($19.90)....
i know i've raved about this many times. So you can refer to older entries. But i've noted that this dish is pretty unique of Broth. At least i've not tried it anywhere else yet.
for mains, Joel went for the beef tenderloin ($38.90) ...

reason for a closer view is because the potato is so good! Right after his first mouthful, Joel told me.. " this is good! "
indeed, it was great. If u look closely, its actually layers of thinly sliced potato... *think apple tart* in a creamy slightly cheese sauce. SO GOOD!
the beef was also special with a layer of mushrooms binding it together in a roll.
as for myself, i went for the veal when lil bee told me its very soft....
it really is very soft. n i liked the fact that it came with this thick big asparagus! hehe.. i like!
after dinner, without any ordering, i was served a pot of english breakfast by Eric....
THANK CUTE LIL BEE! HE REMEMBERS! SO THOUGHTFUL !! I dun even need sugar in my tea. haha
den lil bee appeared with a sticky date pudding topped with a candle on top for Joel....
notice the words, i got lil bee to help me write them on! (thank cute lil bee! takes a lot of creativey to write that and i made lil bee promise he only adds words when im there.. hehe)....
i like the sticky date.. so Broth, please tell Christina i prefer her sticky date to Marmalade Pantry's. Its a personal preference. I like how she added sour cream and caramel to it. Marmalade Pantry's has a strong toffee taste which i personally dun like but i koe marmalade is famous for their sticky date.
and when it came to getting the bill, Joel was very insistant on getting it.. he even went all the way to lil bee.. haha.. luckily lil bee was smart to 'trick' Joel that i've already placed my card with him. Joel, its my birthday treat to u alright!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

i'd like to add that Broth has an interesting way of presenting their bills.
Typically, it'll be in the form of a book...
with the bill place inside....
the book was specially designed to fit the bill. Really creative.
and if u were a table full of ladies, ur bill would be presented in a bag!
either that bag above or this bag, carried by lil bee....
haha.. he looks so cute and he looks better in person... pictures dun do him credit....
