Buffet - Pariss International (First visit)

Went to try Pariss with Dar dar, loh gong zai and Deanie.

We went into Pariss at 8.30 pm. While at the entrance, the server was telling us, their last order ie. the last time we can get any more food is 9.30 pm and they close at 10 pm. Truth be told, its advisable to go over at an earlier time if u really wana enjoy the buffet coz we were kinda rushing through our dinner....

There was supposedly more than 200 items leh!!! How to finish in one hour???

When we were first brought to our table, the server informed us that this fish clip on the table...

.. is an indicator that we should bring along to pass to the chefs for dishes that requires to be cooked so that the dishes will be served to us.

As there are ALOT of food, i'll just try~~ to group them together...

Cold scallops, crayfish, lobsters, spanner crabs, fresh oysters!

The cold scallops was nice in my view... didn't try the crayfish... spanner crab looked special (coz never tried before) but taste was not very nice, very little crab meat... but the oysters were HUGE!!!

Using my finger to give u a gauge of how HUGE it is!

There's also the sashimi...

In the first pic there's salmon, tuna, sword fish, bamboo fish and in the second pic is the squid (my fav.. though not a common liking) and shark.

Dar and Deanie didn't dare to try the shark. Loh gong zai tried and said it tasted like chicken. I duno how to explain the taste. haha!

Then theres the terriyaki...

You can choose ur own and get the chefs to cook it for u. The fish was the nicest, second was probably the chicken. The beef was very hard, not very nice.

Something special was the crocodile soup!

The crocodile meat was very hard! Not very nice. The soup was normal herbal soup.

They also have the cream of corn soup with pastry on top.

The corn soup was just normal corn soup loh~~ But the pastry was VERY NICE!!!

Then these are some of the other dishes which im too lazy to group....

Then for desserts!

There's fruits, some cutey Jappy jelly and ice cream!!

But aside from fruits, i was probably the only one who really had the Jappy jelly, yam pudding and ice cream! haha.. coz i was worried i might get too full for desserts, my first helping was the desserts before any other solid food. haha... The rest of them were too stuffed after the meal for any dessert!

and while having the ice cream, i realised the plate of wasabi sitting beside looked very similar to it...

So we were joking about scooping the wasabi up into some round balls and pass it off as green tea ice cream! confirm lau bak sai ah!! hahaha...

Oh.. i forgot to add that every guests will be given a voucher to redeem a glass of red wine each.

n finally when we were all stuffed, these were the remains on our table...

we were all so stuffed we couldnt walk or stand straight!

How was the food? Honestly, our views were they had lotsa variety, some special stuff but they made the taste very normal. nothing really yummy or so.. but they don't taste bad la...

Healthy - Aiwo (Levine's Birthday Celebration)

Today, dar dar and myself met up with Levine to pass her her birthday present coz we didnt manage to attend her birthday celebration last week.

Dar dar was suggesting we go check out this new place at Raffles City called Aiwo.

She even gave me the webby http://www.aiwo.com.sg/ . From the webby, the food did indeed look appetising.

Its located at 2nd level of Raffles City Shopping Centre.

Once seated, we noticed that they had a rather interesting ... erm.. concept for their utensils.

They are placed in a drawer underneath the glass table. Interesting eh?

They had the ala carte menu, the unlimited feast - which u basically get a soup, pita bread, a starter and all you can eat from the conveyor belt.

Another one called Omega Treats which included wat the unlimited feast had with Lemon Charmoula Cod Accompanied with Grilled Veg or Tandoori Glazed Mushrooms With Assorted Florets and dessert with coffee or tea. (aiya.. actually all these info u can get from the webby... haha)

We went for the Unlimited feast. $17+ per person.

We were first served our soup.

Disclaimer: The following is all based on my personal preference. You MAY like the food there.

Ah.. yes, our soup. Tasted abit curry-ish but its not spicy. Beside it was the pita bread.. that looked like nachos... but it was.. soft.

I was the first to try it. and when Levine picked it up..

she went..."what is this?"

Me:"Nacho loh"

I purposely wait till she took a bite before i added on..

Me:" and its soft "

wahahhahaha....

She gave me a very sian and seh look after that. The sauces to go with it, one was tomato paste and the one one tasted abit like the sweet sauce u get from chee cheong fan! haha...

and then was our starter.. or so called side dish...

The shrimp from the starter was like the tastiest thing i had for the night. Den the green green ball u see, its actually barley balls. Looks like rice right? No, its barley! Pretty tasteless. Duno why its green in colour and has bits of chilli in it.. but still pretty tasteless to me.

Den we began attacking the converyor belt....

The items all LOOKED very appetising and sounded appetising. They SOUND appetising... they have names like .... Asian Barbeque Chicken, Ginger and duno wat fish, Shrimp and crab bolognese, Chicken Satay, etc etc.

Let's just say they were not to our likings. They were not horrible of coz. Just... erm.. a nice word to use is.. HEALTHY. And also pretty indian-ish.

My favourite has gotta be this skewer of Apple, Mushroom, Green Pepper (you can see it on the last pic). But i only eat the apple and mushroom and i dun finish up the rest. The fish was... can eat loh... The chicken satay and asian barbeque chicken was.. too hard for my liking.

We were tempted to order their mains which was some seafood platter thingy but decided not to. Sekali same no taste waste money!

But since dar dar had this voucher for 1 for 1 dessert, we ordered the dessert..

Even their brownie and muffins were healthy kind? Very HEALTHY LOH. Not very sweet... n its weird to mix brownie with sorbert?

But overall, its an experience mah. Just dat we are.. not the healthy type.

Dim Sum - Yum Cha (First visit)

Went for dinner with dar dar and andy zai at Yum Cha.

while eating, i saw someone familar...

The guy standing. I recognise him from my poly and a friend of Joanne. I called Joanne only to realise Yum Cha is his family business. I've seen him a couple of times previously. I passed the fone to him.

Later, he recommended us a couple more items on top of what we ordered, gave us discounts and free dessert.

These were wat we ordered. Overall the dim sums were not bad. An average of $4 per dish. The service was also good. The aunty server kept coming over to change our plates for us and also fill up our drinks (n no, its not because we know Tantong).

Then these desserts were complimentary from him.

The honeydew sago was not bad. But dar and myself don't really like Honeydew. The honeydew sago was served with the dried ice effect.. wow.. so cool.

The red bean paste with banana waffle was really nice.

We noticed something special on the table. You know how restaurant tables usually would have this stand with a list of recommended items? On the base of this stand, there were buttons.

U can click on each button to order, to add water, to bill, etc. Wow.. very advanced huh!

Tan Tong also told us they intend to go into HK steamboat soon. Probably will go back and try it.

This is the restaurant's interior.

Spanish - Ocho (First visit)

Met up with Vreniz for dinner at Chijmes

Vreniz and myself arranged to meet up at Chijmes because Vreniz has this card dat offers 1 for 1 at several of the dining places at Chijmes and we both love love love the ambience at Chijmes since our previous visit there.

We're planning on utilising her card to try out the places.

Today we chose Ocho, a spanish place.

We met up around 5.30 pm which is actually pretty early for dinner.

The people were actually just setting up the chairs when we got there.

They were covering the chairs with red cloths.

Vreniz also had vouchers to get $10 off drinks so we ordered one mango juice and one fresh summer.

Fresh summer is very refreshing and not very sweet with a twist of sour. It contains apple and i-cant-remember-what. Haha....

and for food, we ordered 4 items since it was 1 for 1 and the items were all in very small portions.

The pics may make the dishes look BIG but seriously, the portioning seemed pretty pathetic to us. The creamy shrimps was nice but it was such a small piece. there was only about 4-5 meatballs in the meatballs and the softshell crab was just.. ok. The cod fish was an incredibly small piece. After dividing it was just a mouthful. We felt like we were eating starters which barely filled our stomachs.

With the 1 for 1 card, our whole meal cost around $36 which is actually not cheap. Its a place where i probably won't be back again but its worth a try if you just want the experience. Service was not bad though.

As we were finishing our meal, it started to seem like its about to rain... and the poor servers who were covering the chairs wif the red cloths earlier were all busy trying to remove the covers.

Fine Dining - Broth (My birthday treat from lil bee)

I went over to pick up dar dar and Jo-ann at Mandarin hotel and headed over to Duxton Hill together. Little bee wanted to treat me for my bday at Broth, the restaurant he's working in.

He's raved to me many times about how nice AND EXPENSIVE the food at his restaurant is. haha.. finally getting to try it for myself!

We were first served the bread...

and our orders were taken under their recommendations.

For starters....

We had baby spinach and goose liver.

The baby spinach looked quite special. It was a layer of leaves and a layer of mushroom. Very uniquely designed. Overall the taste was ok.

As for the goose liver, it tasted very special and yummy on first bite. Its very cripsy on the outside (most probably pan fried). its not powdery. In fact, it tastes a little bit fatty? i duno if im describing it correctly. Its nice but u cant eat too much of it or u'll feel really sick of it.

We were also offered glasses of wine and rosay (i hope i spelt rosay correctly).

and many other drinks...

Btw, they last pic is the sugar. Haha.. i liked the way their sugar cubes looked. =P

For the mains, we had...

The beef, the mahi mahi (fish) and kangaroo!

The beef was nice!! It was my favourite main dish though it wasnt totally special.

We didnt really like the mahi mahi coz we found the fish abit too tough. But the sauce was very nice.

And the kangaroo meat... this little bee upon serving us asked us if we found it cruel to eat kangaroo meat and that kinda... got us abit off the mood for the kangaroo meat! miu~* The kangaroo meat tastes a little like beef but its slightly more chewy. N for some reasons, indeed because kangaroo meat was unusual, i visualising a kangaroo in my mind. hahaha....

Lastly for our dessert....

We ordered the 3 more popular items upon their recommendations.

The first one is the chocolate moose. The cup shaped tart tasted a little like digestive biscuits and the middle part had a very sour sauce. It was Jo-ann's favourite out of the 3 desserts.

The second one is the sticky date pudding. MY FAVOURITE! My expression tells it all when i sampled it. Jo-ann and dar dar could see my face light up immediately after i tried it. The top is sour cream and the cake is covered with butterscotch. My god... that combination is a killer. i felt flutters in my heart and sparkles all around. I'm flying~ hahahhahaha! It was DAT GOOD!!! Little bee was saying that the next time we play mj at his place he'll try to ta bao for me! haha

The last pic is the highly recommended apple tart with ice cream. It tastes special unlike the other apple tarts we've tried before. went very well with the ice cream. According to the guys, you can never go wrong with the apple tart. haha....

Steamboat - Juju (My birthday with Sonia and Rachel)

Rachel and Sonia were giving me a birthday treat at Ju Ju.

Its located right beside Tao. In fact, they are under the same management.

This is Juju's set meal menu.

This is the starters.

I find the egg tofu on the left and the seasoned i-duno-wat-its-called pretty common. But the egg was quite special. Its half boiled and u're supposed to break it into half and pour the sauce. Not bad, quite special.

For the mains, Sonia and i ordered the beef for our mains while Rachel ordered the ocean platter.

The ocean platter looks good right? The boat makes it look even more appetising yeah? Honestly our beef was nice as well but of coz the ocean platter has much more variety.

The special part of Juju's steamboat is that each person gets a pot of steamboat.

You get to cook your own pot.

The dumpling platter was actually just 2 wantan dat was added in the set tray.

As for choice of side dish, rachel and sonia chose rice while i had the soba.

n then theres the ice plum vinegar.

Its actually a very very small cup (think shooter). I find it quite nice. Not too sweet. In fact, very cold and sour. I like it.

As for desserts....

I chose the purple rice with sweetened yam. The purple rice is our typical orh chock bee dessert and the sweetened yam is our typical orh nee... the combination was great! Its not very sweet - just nice. Love it!

The centre one is the vanilla ice cream which rachel chose. It comes with a few pieces of purple coloured sweet potato but i didnt try it.

The last one is Pearl Harbour chose by Sonia. Its something like... honeydew sago but the coconut milk has mango added to it. We found it a little bit too sweet.

The servers at Juju were also all very polite and provided really good service. I believe the management taught them well.

Dim Sum - Swee Choon (First visit)

Shi xiong and i went over to Jalan Besar, the dim sum place he's been wanting to bring me.

Swee Choon Dim Sum located along Jalan Besar road.

We sat along the air conditioned area.

The tea they serve are using the small porcelain cups.

These were our orders...

Variety wise, they definitely lose out to Wan Tou Shek @ Geylang but taste wise i would say they are on par. Their beancurd skin prawn roll is very nice!

and there's one more dish we ordered...

haha! wat does this remind u of? It was placed exactly like this when it was served to us! hahahaha!!!

Vegetarian - Indinine (My birthday celebration)

I met up with Inn Leng at Suntec City - Indinine. This is a western concept vegetarian restaurant opened by her company.

Inn Leng gave me a treat...

We had pasta... It was not bad. I think hers was nicer.

Arabic - Samar (First visit)

We took a cab down to somewhere around Arab street because Meina was so sweet? She wanted to fulfill my long awaited conquest of Shi Sha!

Samar is the name of the place.

The exterior of Samar....

Sorina was already whining and saying that she regrets coming here. haha... she was frowning away and complaining about the smell of the place. Meina also didn't like the smell but strangely i didn't really feel the smell.

This is the interior of the place..

This is the menu of Samar.

We were already quite full but we decided that since we are here, we should try abit of the food. We had wanted to play safe and order chicken wings. But after much debates and hesistation we decided to be more 'adventurous' and order something uncommon....

Potato cutlet. Its somewhat like potato wedges and fresh tomatoes topped with melted cheese.

We also saw the server serving this big round ball to other tables. We all thought it was some chocolatey dessert only to realise its beef kebab. Out of curiousity, we ordered it as well.

Its a big round ball of beef. The beef isnt beef patty style but really threads of beef and its covered with milk (which originally appeared like vanilla sauce over chocolate ball to us) Inside the round ball of beef was a small round ball of tasteless bread. Overall it was.. erm.. not to our liking. We barely finished half of it.

N for drinks, to play very safe, Meina and Sorina ordered Ice Mountain! haha! $1.50 each.

I ordered a apple ice blended drink which was Peel Fresh apple juice + sugar syrup + ice blended. I found it tooooooo sweet but Meina and Sorina found it just nice. I would much prefer if they just gave me a cuppa Peel fresh apple juice. haha.

Finally it was shisha! They haf different flavours. Apple, Vanilla, Strawberry, Mixed Fruit, Cappucino, Chocolate and i cant remember. We chose Apple. Each shisha is about $14-$15.

Along with the shisha, we were given a plastic cap each for hygiene purposes to cover over the tube of the shisha.

we were all trying very hard and very unsure if we were doing it right. The smell wasn't very pleasant. We were wondering if the taste we experienced was more of the plastic smell from the plastic cap or were we doing it correctly coz we couldnt feel anything.

We were testing and trying obviously appearing helpless and sua ku that the owner and the staffs seated in the table beside was coaching us.

We were told that we should be breathing in hard enough. The way to see if we are doing it correctly is by seeing if there are any bubbles at the bottom.

Meina settled the bill and we took a picture with the general manager of Samar who's a very friendly and nice to talk to lady.

Thank you Meina and Sorina for such a wonderful night.

Modern Pacific - Tao's (My birthday celebration)

Meina and Sorina offered me a dinner treat at Tao's to celebrate my birthday.

While taking our orders, we were chatting with the server because Meina was contemplating getting their vouchers. $225 for 10. Meaning each visit is only $22.50 nett. A saving of about $6+ for dinner. Coz dinner is around $24.80 +++. Then upon chatting, the server noticed that we patronise them quite often and offered us a VIP card!

Hee~*

Next time go with me got discount leh!

N since Meina brought along her digicam, she helped Sorina to take all these pics....

Our dishes arrived shortly. I only took pics of those that are different from my previous visit.

This is under salad...

Fruits cocktail. The top is crab mayo. Bottom is fruits salad of apple, mango and some other fruits dat i cannot recall.

den for soup, under Meina's recommendation, i ordered the pumpkin soup.

Its really good. Different from the one at secret recipe that dar complained of tasting like curry sauce. This one is slightly sweet and tastes a little like sweet corn soup yet the taste is not as strong. Nice.

N for the tea, this is grape mallow tea.

It is also sweet but i cant remember much of the taste

and finally for dessert, this is the Japanese red bean pudding.

I would say its really quite nice. Its special. Not too sweet. The red bean paste goes very well with the pudding.

And remember that server in the advertisement? He said he recognised me for being a regular at Tao. Truth is i've only been there once prior to his. haha... Just that, that once was a very recent visit.

Japanese Western - Ma Maison

Had dinner with ah yee and uncle sq at Ma Maison.

We saw that they had some kinda promotion for ladies and families...

Ah yee was saying we can bring zu hao along to enjoy the kids and family fair.

We tried the cheese fritters...

It was alright. Its like fried melted cheese. The cheese is too blend, in my view. But the sauce was special. Its abit sweet and sour and peppery from the black pepper bits.

N for soup, aunt and i had clam chowder whereas uncle sq had onion soup upon my recommendation.

Thank god he quite liked the soup. hehe..

then our mains came...

Actually it was my beef stew and aunt's chicken chop in red wine sauce dat came first. *ahem*theyforgotunclesqsorder*ahem*

So we happily dug in! My beef stew was quite nice.

Aunt's chicken chop in red wine sauce tastes abit like... mi jiu ji to me. Its not bad if u like mi jiu.

Uncle sq's pork cutlet curry rice was woo! Power neh! The rice was different. It was shiny and sticky. Feels like its really from some traditional japanese restaurant and not some wanabe japanese restaurant. In fact, if u look around, there are several tables of japanese dining there. The first time we were there was also several tables of japanese. Is this because they serve very customary japanese food? hehe...

n finally, i gotta rave about the YUMMIEST, TASTIEST and my FAVOURITE BROWNIE!!!

Its SO GOOD that i must show you a bigger picture so that u'll get the picture. The brownie is served warm. It is soft and supple with nuts. With you mix it with the vanilla ice cream, the ice cream melts slowly in between the brownie and once placed inside ur mouth, it melts and you can feel the warm and cold sensation.... totally divine... this is heaven.... you MUST TRY! Till now, this is the best tasting brownie i've ever tried - even dar dar agrees. Aunt and uncle sq also agrees dat its very nice.

But of coz, different people have different preference... so u may think otherwise. If you think otherwise, dun scold me!!

Fine Dining - Indochine Nude (My birthday celebration)

A big thank you to Cynthia and Liping for a big expensive treat to Indochine ..

We chose NUDE which is fine dining.

We ordered 2 starters and a dish each

Our starters came....

The first one is a combination of shells. Scallops, Mussels and Oysters. The second one is a platter of starters that consists of most of the starters on the menu. I didnt get to try the duck roll but according to Cynthia and especially Liping, the duck roll was very nice.

N the rest of the items were not bad as well.

Then came our mains...

The first was ordered by Cynthia, its chicken in lemon juice. Freaking salty. Tastes abit like some salted fish in chicken style. haha.... which we were all trying hard to help finish.

The second was ordered by Liping. Black Pepper beef. VERY NICE!! Extremely tender beef cubes spiced evenly with pepper. Not too spicy and not too mild. It was just nice. The round nest is actually made of yam which was very hard - a very nice indian manager made the effort to help us cut it into pieces coz according to him its tasty coz its very crispy. I found it ok. haha..

Lastly its the beef stew with potatoes. Its not bad. But i think Tao's better. Its stew is thicker than Tao's but Tao's stew taste is stronger.

We were contemplating if we should order dessert when one of 'us' (cannot say who) suggested that maybe they would have some birthday promo or discount.

N so the one of us shamelessly did us the honour of asking that super friendly indian manager. We waited quite long to catch his attention and making sure that we don't catch any other servers or managers. haha....

N the manager was very nice. He offered to get me a dessert of my choice.

Den... my free dessert came....

Lemongrass creme brulee. Creme brulee with a rather strong lemongrass smell and a scoop of vanilla ice cream by the side with a candle for me to blow out.

Cafe - My Secret Garden (First visit)

we decided that we'll go racky and see if we can find my secret garden!

N boy did we... have a hard time finding the very secretive place! Check out the routes we took before we found the place!

By the time we got there we were all tired and sweating all over!

Sadly, the indoors were all closed and there was only the outdoors.

We ordered...

The sausages were not bad. The cheese cake was.. very normal. Brownie was.. only alright. Edible? lol..

We called it a night around 1 am - that's the time my secret garden closes by the way and headed home seperately.

Modern Pacific - Tao's (First visit)

It was upon recommendation by Meina during one of our mahjong sessions that makes me wana try Tao Restaurant.

Of coz, before that i've already watched that "wo yao zhi ge.. wo yao zhi ge" and den made the server almost go crazy advertisement and heard about Tao's.

Meina gave her thumbs up recommendation for Tao's. However, despite how i probed, she was unable to explain what kind of food Tao's serve.

Me:"hmm.. wat kinda cuisine"
Meina:"very hard to explain... i really duno how to say"
Me:"maybe u dun hafta tell me cuisine but... maybe u can tell me wat kinda dishes they serve? eg. Chawanmushi? Steak?"
Meina:"no, not chawanmushi... very hard to explain.. i really duno how to tell u wat they serve"
Now DAT got me really puzzled, curious and eager to find out!
Me:"or like wat do they serve.. at least tell me if its chicken? beef? duck?"
Meina:"not i dun wana tell u.. its really very special.. i duno how to tell u"

Wah liew... so special ah? MUSTTTTT TRY!

n so we went today!

Allow me to try to explain to u Tao's. LOL

This is their menu.

I hope u can see it clearly. If i recall correctly their lunch is around $19.80 per set and dinner is around $24.80 per set.

The lunch set consists of Starters, Salads, Soups, Main, Dessert and Beverage. the only difference between lunch and dinner is dinner has an additional Grilled Mushroom.

If after ordering the set u want to order something else extra, you can. They have an ala carte menu. On the average the starters, soup and desserts are around $3.50 to $4.80. The mains are around.. $13.80 to.. $16.80 ( if i recall correctly la).

We were first served the Starters.

The Bacon & Mushroom Gratin were served to us by a very soft-spoken waiter. He was not only soft-spoken but very smiley! Very good service! He even introduced the different ingredients of the gratin to us and adviced us to slowly spread it on the toasted bread.

I know Levine likes it very much. I personally find it ok though i think if its slightly saltier, i'll like it better. But it really is quite nice.

next, we were served our salads....

Totally DIG Levine's seasonal cocktail's salad sauce. Its abit like soya sauce colour, tastes a little sourish like vinegar and a little taste of wasabi. Despite not being a wasabi lover, i love the sauce.

Dar dar's Huai San, according to a waiter, is some chinese herb that's good for complexion and detox.

To me, it tastes crunchy (abit like radish) but is surrounded by a layer of gluey and sticky texture. I personally don't dislike it but i don't like it either. Its most probably an acquired taste.

My ham and spud is the safest thing to order i guess. Its really like normal salad, the ham dat i believe almost everyone likes, the veges and u see that whiteish thing in the middle? Its half a potato (very nice potato) covered with a layer of mayo like sauces and topped with some cheese. NICE!

Icy arrived while we were having our salads and dar dar was advising her on what to order and how the dinner works.

haha.. basically we were... 'advising' her not to order those that we've ordered.

We were served our grilled mushroom.

This is the item that's only available for dinner. Its taste was not bad.

Next, we were at our soup ....

Before i tell u about the soup, i was observing this server who was serving us....

Him! I find dat he looks like the server who's in the Tao's advert! And so we asked him. N he admitted he is the one! haha.. n Levyne went.. " can she (meaning me) take a pic of u? "

He was very friendly and nice. He tried to tell us he'll take a pic with all of us later (which was unnecessary actually) so we told him we just wana take a pic of him serving us. HAHA! n he graciously agreed. He was joking around with us the whole night and i gotta say, all their staff give VERY GOOD SERVICE! VERY!

Oki, back to our soup. My clam and garlic soup. We ordered it expecting it to be a cream based soup and so was very surprised to see that its clear soup. It feels very much like the juan lor (ie.steamboat) soup base. The clam smell is very strong. Too strong in fact. Makes it too.... calmy.

Levine and Icy ordered the cream of mushroom soup. It was ... ok. Not bad but not special u see. We're expecting to taste different and special food. haha.. but seriously it tastes alright.

Den it was Dar dar's fish soup. Wah.. came in very special 'bowl'. In teapot form and a small cup. Looks like those ancient times wheres the pugilistic warriors drink wine huh?

Our mains...

The Stew Beef with Rice Japanese Style was... VERY NAP AH!!! VERY VERY NICE AH!!! The sauce was very beeeefy!

But according to Icy, the rice was.. abit too dry..

But the stew was... WOOO! Power!

N den it was dar dar's sting ray which looked very appetising. But i didn't try it coz i don't really like spicy stuff. Dar dar said its really quite spicy.

I ordered the oven roasted steak. Also veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy nice! I asked for the steak to be medium and it was nicely done.

Lastly was Levine's cod fillet. Also very nice! The quantity was just nice and the baking totally brought out the taste of the cod fish. The sauce also went very well with the cod fish. *YUM*

We were then served our desserts....

Levine ordered the yang sheng cocktail. It tastes abit like some red dates syrup with white fungus bits. A very refreshing taste as well.

Icy ordered the green tea ice cream. It was nice!

N dar dar and myself ordered creme brulee. Yummy also!

Finally it was the drinks...

I know i know... orange juice is very normal. But i just felt like having it!! N so did the many guys on the table beside me. I can't deny i was semi influenced. The orange juice was.. NICE LOH!

Levyne ordered the iced fruit tea which was... funny to me. The taste was like... sweet not sweet... sour not sour. =x keke...

Icy ordered the Ice Summer Peach Tea. They all said its got pineapple taste. As for me, i felt dat its got ... table taste. U must be thinking ??~!!??? wat table taste? I duno.. its just very teak very woody taste. But it a special taste. Not bad one. Can try.

Finally dar dar's Ice Rose Apple Tea was the best taste one! It was sweet but the after taste was very good! It lingers in the mouth!

Their last order is at 9.30 pm. Dar dar had actually wanted to order an extra main... the tao's grilled chicken. (the guys on the other table were having it). But we were too late.

Western - China Jump (My birthday celebration)

Vreniz and i took a cab over to chijmes chinajump for dinner.

Love the atmosphere. For a special reason i really like China Jump!

n so we ordered...

The food was not bad but one thing to note is that their serving is pretty slow........ tip: when u order things, try to order all at a go or they will take a long time to serve.

After our mains, Vreniz ordered the mama of all desserts!

Its a super big ice cream bowl and according to the menu, if you can finish it on ur own, they will issue u a certificate!

Vreniz asked me to substitute this ice cream as a birthday cake. Thank you so much girl. Im very touched by all that u've done!

Cafe - Mr Beans Cafe

After dinner, Dearest Jo asked to meet up for drinks so she came to pick me up. We went over to Mr Beans cafe.

we ordered...

i was too full to help Jo eat anything. I only had my usual peach soda. But i did try a bite of her country pie (my all time fav @ Mr Beans) but it was damn damn damn disappointing. Its very very dry and not nice anymore. The bottom part of the pie should be semi wet. But sadly this one was super dry.

As Jo was eating, i pointed out to her... u realised u ordered... Potato(samosa), potato(country pie), potato(french fries)?

she started luffing and she went.. "why don't u say i ordered carbohydrates, carbohydrates, carbohydrates?"

Western - Secret Recipe (First Visit)

Dar dar asked me out for dinner with her and andy zai at Secret Recipe.

The Secret Recipe at Plaza Singapura is the open concept kind.

These are our orders....

The first pic is pumpkin soup which dar dar complains that it tasted like curry sauce. haha.. Next is that of some mushroom sauce chicken chop (can't remember the exact name) and lastly is the seabass with some very yummy sauce. The sauce tastes abit like the Fish & Co.'s garlic lemon sauce. I LIKE! But this sauces is slightly more oily.

I ordered the chicken cordan bleu.

Its... erm.. not bad.. different i guess. But not very fantastic.

We took interest in this mini hamburger thingy on the kid's menu when we peeped and saw some little girl on another table digging into it.

The mini hamburgers were YuMMY! The beef patty was nice. Even the bread was saltishly tasty!! Instead of fries, it was served with some alphabet harshbrowns.

If you refer to the second pic, don't go puzzling why i formed the word SHOOT. It was simply coz that was like the only word with can form with the selected alphabets we had.

and our drinks.....

apple juice and iced lemon tea...

finally, if u go secret recipe, u really should NOT MISS out the desserts! Yes yes, i know i had just tried their cakes yesterday. But yesterday i didnt buy their marble cheese cake!

Their marble cheese cake is ... JUST VERY NICE. I shall not raise ur hopes or interest. Lets just say i really like it very much! The brownie also went very well with the ice cream. Its not very sticky. Dar and myself loved it.
