Pasta Brava

After work i went over to meet the nuasters at Pasta Brava. Jeffrey wanted to meet up so i asked him to come along too.

Pasta Brava along Craig Road....

been quite a few years since we visited. the place still looks the same.

the complimentary bread....

the beef carpaccio....

very thinly sliced raw beef.. really tender and soft! i love the parmesan cheese n rockets dat came along. Mmm.. so yummy!

the calamari...

my memory tells me that the calamari here is nice but somehow its not. its quite bland and texture was also just mediocre.

some scallop starter...

the sauce was really good but freshness wise it can be better in my view.

the mains took quite awhile to come. the restaurant was actually quite packed.

for the mains, i had a duck ragout pasta in red wine sauce recommended by the server...

it was not bad. the sauce was flavoursome and duck was in good portion.

michelle had the carbonara...

it was ok, not too bad but no wow factor. probably had better carbonara before.

jiamiao's prawn pasta..

the sauce was good and the seafood was fresh!

joann went for some steak in chocolate sauce!

it was ok. tasted like some saltish chocolate.. kinda funny eh. haha

kendi went for the beef ravioli...

u can say this dish was dar dar, kendi and my favourite dish for tonight. the cheese is highlighted by the server to be some very strong cheese (i wish it was even stronger!!) but it didnt deter us at all. it was truly GOOD.

the beef fillings...

the guys all went for the minced lamb cannelloni...

which i didnt try coz i dun eat lamb.

dar dar had the salmon ravioli...

the fishy smell was quite strong.

the experience today at Pasta Brava was not exceptional. the pasta had no punch or wow factor. not sure if its coz their standards have dropped or coz we've tried it before.

As a result, we dropped the idea of desserts.

thank cute for the birthday treat!
