which was also yummy!

my fav dim sum, har gao!

decent. but i prefer crystal jade's.

chee cheong fun...

i like the chee cheong fun.. smooth skin with prawns.

the liu sha bao....

their bun is pandan flavoured. many of the ladies loved this. adeline who has never tried it had 4 of it!!

Ku De Ta

headed over to MBS to meet up with the lions... Janice brought us up to Ku De Ta. It has a beautiful view!

we took seats outdoors but because it was a super windy day, it was really cold!

Janice did the ordering. There was tuna tartare...

which is not bad.

some salad...

beef tartare...

some signature spinach dish...

calamari...

the above were starters. most of them liked the calamari. i like the spinach. the rest of the items were just normal. pretty disappointing actually considering the price.

the mains included duck...

soft shell crab...

pork belly...

pork belly was not crispy. very disappointing.

glutinous rice...

tenderloin...

the tenderloin was really good. the soft shell crab came with green chilli mayo which i liked the mayo! but the rest were again, normal hence disappointing given the expectations.

we proceeded on to the club side...

4 cheese pizza...

chicken satay pizza...

decent pizza. great view. lousy uncomfy seats.

The Food Barn

couldnt resist buying this piece of xmas-y coloured cake from The Food Barn. Shared it with Sharon..

the taste was decent. The centre layer was a little pandan taste. can't quite make out what the red layer taste was like but overall it was decent.

Sushi Express

arranged to meet lydia for dinner and we decided on sushi express!
everything is $1.50 per plate!

one of the server actually recognised us and highlighted to us that they now sell their the sushi figurines! (see below later) every ten plates of sushi allows you to purchase one! its only $2.50 per figurine and they change a new one every week!

some of the sushi we had...

i like their big and fresh scallop, the mock abalone and the saba sushi.

and i now believe, they also have uni!!

the cute figurine!

got one for lydia and one for shuping!

while i generally like sushi express, one pick about the place is they don't have ice cubes. they dont offer any ice for any of their drinks.

Amigo

louis strongly recommended this ipoh hor fun place at changi village hawker centre...

we had the chicken chop hor fun...

the chicken chop was not bad. tender and the skin was crispy. the batter was not too thick either. the hor fun was also decent and soft.

CA California

we let kaizhi decide on where to go since she was the one driving. kaizhi randomly drove along and reached the Ben & Jerry's side of Dempsey where we saw CA (California)'s banner of their breakfast. Looks damn yummy!

as we entered, we realised they were linked to ben and jerry's.

chicken burrito....

it was not bad. chicken and mushroom cubes in the burrito.

turkey ham and mushroom cream pasta...

decent pasta. the cream sauce was ok but i think its not thick enough.

their breakfast set...

was also not bad. as i mentioned to the girls, actually alot of these items can all be easily prepared at home. but somehow we still end up ordering them for brunch at restaurants. haha

open faced steak sandwich...

not bad either.

overall, food is decent.

a little too bland.

garlic bread...

nice but cartel's one is nicer!

brian's favourite carbonara...

but he agreed with me that cartel's one is nicer! hehe

tried their new squid ink rissotto...

the squid ink rissotto was ok. squid ink taste was not strong enough. but brian found it too black and didnt dare to try! haha

Crystal Jade Kitchen

I do very much like the steamboat from crystal jade. i really like their fresh ingredients - particularly the beef slices and the thick and big pieces of pork liver. It doesnt bother me that it doesnt include prawns because i typically dont eat them for steamboat.

Ever since Shawn brought me there, i have visited the place 4 times within a month! I am back again today at the Plaza Sing branch. Didnt take pictures today since i've been there 4 times this month and its effectively the same things i ordered.

The only thing i really dislike about their steamboat is how they they put a time to their steamboat (applies to both weekdays and weekends). You either start at 5pm and leave by 7pm or start at 7.15pm and leave by 9pm. The time limit thing is quite annoying especially since they are very anal about it.

to make things worse, they keep missing out our orders and take a long time to serve. if you want to set a time limit, i think you should jolly well serve ur orders properly. the only thing they are really prompt in refilling is the drinks which actually gets you full really quickly.

but else, im still pretty FOR their steamboat. i likey~
